100% and a MOVING DATE! // September 2016 Update

Hola a todos!

God is amazing! With less than 12 hours to spare before I left for Colorado for Compass training, I reached 100% of my initial recurring support goal. I can now say I am a fully-funded missionary! I am blown away by God’s provision and am still in awe of all that has happened over the last few weeks.

A special thank you to everyone for their prayers during the last push to reach my goal, it was a crazy yet amazing time living and acting in faith that God would provide the support I need! God has hand-picked each of you to join me on this journey, so thank you for being a part of it!

MOVING DATE: OCTOBER 25!

With reaching my support goal, I was able to book a flight for the move and I will be able to make it there BEFORE my previous proposed moving date. Please be praying for me specifically on October 25 (in just 25 days) as I hop on the 6am flight from Columbus to make it to San Salvador in the afternoon.

I’ll be splitting my time between Toledo and Columbus after training and before I move. If you’d like to get together with me before I leave, please don’t hesitate to let me know and I’ll do my best to see you!

Compass Training (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

Right now, I’m at the end of Week 2 (of fours weeks) of Compass training at Mission Training International. So far, this training has been an incredible experience. Getting to know missionaries gearing up to serve the Lord in a variety of ways across the world (in Egypt, France, Japan, Costa Rica, and South Africa just to name a few) is one of the coolest environments I’ve ever been a part of.

We’ve been digging in deep with language learning techniques, what to expect when hitting the mission field, and tons more information from trainers with loads of experience serving as international missionaries. With two weeks left in training, I can already say it has widened my perspective of the global Church and opened my eyes to some of the unexpected challenges and joys I will experience as a missionary in El Salvador.

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. // Acts 20:24

Que Dios los bendiga,

Prayer Requests:

  • For the last two weeks of Compass training. That all the missionaries here and I (40 adults and 19 children) would have the energy to stay focused during class time and make the most of the unique time we have here.

  • For me as I plan logistics for moving from a distance while I’m still in Colorado Springs for training (until October 15).

  • That I will be able to spend quality time with my family and friends in between all of the planning and logistics.

  • For me on October 25, moving day!!! Specially, for safe travels, no lost luggage and peace as I make this huge transition.
