Merry Christmas from us to you!
We love this time of year and all of the reminders of God’s faithfulness that it brings along with it. December has been full of Christmas parties to celebrate the gift we have in Jesus and the lives that God allows us to live.
CDI Christmas
We closed out the CDI program for 2021 with a special Christmas party for the kids, complete with gifts, pizza, music and prayer. In addition, every CDI family received a large food package to make sure they are able to enjoy a delicious holiday meal at home. As a staff family, we celebrated last week with a long lunch on a beautiful property in the Volcano enjoying “sopa de gallina” and “gallina asada” (hen soup and roasted hen), a traditional celebratory meal in El Salvador. I was reminded of the beauty of God’s creation looking out at the city and volcanoes spread across the landscape below.
Youth Small Group
Chepe and I have loved becoming closer with our small group this year, returning to in person meetings back in May. It has been so encouraging to see the growth in each member of the group and seeing how dedicated they have become to serving others through the local church. We celebrated as a group with a rooftop dinner at our apartment complex, Secret Santa and lots of photos!
IGC Volunteers
The pastors from San Salvador and Soyapango invited all volunteers from Iglesia Gran Comisión to celebrate together at a lunch last weekend. It was so fun getting to see some friends that Soyapango and thanking God for all the servant’s hearts represented in that group!
Chepe has been hard at work on the art for the December series for church, including a special virtual service that will air on Christmas Eve. Check out some of his work below:
